Memorial Scholarship Fund

Jon Chester

A beloved man and friend of Healing Care Ministries has gone home to be with the Lord. Jon Chester passed away unexpectedly after emergency surgery on October 9, 2012. He retired from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department and was a graduate of the Vineyard Leadership Institute. He and his wife, Cathy, pastored Remnant Church in Columbus before God called them to plant Carolina Coast Vineyard Church in Wilmington, North Carolina, where they moved four months ago. Even in that short time, the church has been growing. Additionally, Jon had gone through extensive training in Formational Prayer through IFC/HCM.

Jon is survived by his wife, three children, and his first grandchild, born earlier this year. According to his obituary, “he didn't know a stranger, and did everything large, especially if it furthered the Kingdom of God.” May we all have this same attitude of heart. Our prayers go out to Cathy and the rest of Jon’s family in this difficult time.

A scholarship fund has been set up in Jon’s honor through HCM International. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation (subject to IRS regulations) to this fund, you can do so by clicking on “Online Giving” on the main page and entering “Jon Chester Memorial Scholarship” in the “Notes” section. Alternatively, checks can be made out to “HCM International” and mailed to us at the address listed below. Just write “Jon Chester Memorial Scholarship” in the Memo line. These funds will be used to train people in the ministry of Formational Prayer, and Healing Care Ministries (HCM) is also providing one scholarship in Jon’s honor for someone to attend a Formational Prayer Seminar.
